CSI Professionals, Inc. — Celebrating Christ, Giving & Giving Thanks

“Pasko, Pasko, Pasko nananaman’g muli. “ The Christmas bells and carols in the ever-festive Philippines may have been clanking too hard, that they have reached the ears of Filipinos overseas (even if protected by ear muffs during this time). Then, the true Filipino realizes that being situated far from home, there is always that longing for the spirit of “Paskong Pinoy” – those familiar Pinoy Christmas traditions and of course, the warmth and smiles that only our families can give us, especially during this time of year.

Most Filipinos in the U.S. have been too busy sacrificing as immigrants—working hard for foreign companies and the foreign country itself just to get by every single day in this time of great economic recession; and to somehow bring something to the tables of their families back in the Philippines.

Mainly, Christmas is the most awaited time of year; and in this period of economic struggle, Christmas is still celebrated even just in simplicity and with those closest to our hearts, if not wholly with those physically closest to where we actually are.

The important thing is, we celebrate Christmas not because we simply have to, but because Christ is in and has been in our lives. Moreover, this is a time of giving and thanksgiving. Though we ourselves are working hard to survive, we here in the U.S. are experiencing the benefits not found back home. We can’t have the best of both worlds. It’s a matter of priorities, sacrifices and battles that we have to triumph over to be what we want to become.

Give thanks for the year that was, and give thanks despite challenges for it is with these that a person becomes stronger and the more that these events call us closer to Christ; thus, celebrate Christ!

Similarly, CSI Professionals is celebrating Christ and is giving thanks for a good year, 2009. CSI thanks all its clients, collegues, immigration counsel and partners, advertisers, friends and supporters. We extend to you our sincere gratitude — for it is with good clients and partners that make our business possible and meaningful. Likewise, for those who have been expressing their gratitude to us, we say that it is our pleasure that we’ve work with and for them. It feels good to help our kababayan’s and to make them realize the virtue of hope.

Be reasons for others’ thanksgiving. Spread the good; for the rewarding feeling of having helped someone is PRICELESS.

We look forward to another year with you. If you haven’t been shed light to your employment and immigration concerns, CSI is here for you and CSI is coming for YOU on MANILA January-February of 2010!

Last Hurrah for 2009!

CSI Professionals, Inc.: Wrapping Up Its Marathon of Free Seminars

With a Powerful Year-Ending Seminar

CSI Professionals, Inc., being the pioneer in providing free seminars on employment-based sponsorship and immigration updates, has yet again delivered a powerful marathon of free monthly seminars in 2009.

CSI welcomed this year with a series of “Coffee Moments” – CSI’s traditional small group seminars on case-specific employment and immigration concerns. These took place on January 21, February 6 and February 27 in its Glendale satellite office, and catered to existing clients. Their particular cases were discussed in a more private set-up, and they were advised by our expert immigration counsel.

On the other hand, the more generic but very informative seminars were delivered to the public on the following dates: August 5, September 18,  September 26, October 16 and November 6 – with the September 18 schedule being the Grand Seminar. Aside from reports and tips on employment-based petitions and updated information on immigration, the latest options to apply for Canadian permanent residency were also part of the seminars’ agenda.  As always, the seminars’ highlight is the question and answer segment wherein attendees have the chance to seek answers and alternatives from the CSI team and immigration attorneys.

To conclude their monthly affair, CSI will be giving it’s last hurrah on seminars for this year. On December 11, 2009, the interested public will have another chance to be updated on employment and immigration issues, especially now that everyone is anticipating BIG CHANGES in IMMIGRATION in 2010.

Indeed, it has been a busy year for CSI despite the economic “hibernation” (not anymore termed as “decline”; we, here always want to remain positive).

Aside from seminars (and events unmentioned  here), CSI will be sponsoring the  Christmas concert of the Filipino-American Symphony Orchestra on December 6, in support of Filipino and Filipino-American talents and culture.

Moreover, our ‘Kababayans’ need to watch out for us in Manila! CSI in Manila, 2010 – employment and immigration options in the US need not be confined in the US… Following its successful Manila visit in 2007, CSI is going to MANILA again, in 2010 to deliver the good news in US employment and immigration to our “kapwa” Filipinos. The news will be delivered to YOU. Come see us in Manila on February 2010! Inform your relatives and friends as early as now. Watch out for more details on this grand event, in our upcoming advertisements.

As CSI always says, you should be aware of your options. The source of information is available FOR you. You will never know, unless you’ll never COME to know.

GOD AND BUSINESS: The Compatibility Issue

CSI Professionals in bringing both Religious Belief

and Business Principles in the Workplace

-          Bringing spirituality in the workplace violates the old idea that religious belief and business don’t mix;  But a groundswell of believers are breaching the last taboo in corporate America—-

United States CORPORATE establishments gradually incorporate different spiritual beliefs and values in the workplace.  Bringing up spirituality into the workplace does not mean encouraging others to believe in one religion but instead, to make the work environment more ethical and humane-to combine non believers and believers alike and find fulfillment and serenity in the workplace.  The idea of spirituality in the workplace triggers in controversy among businessmen in America.  They ask the question-should we mix religious belief with business?

As reported in the fortune in 1953, “American businessmen are taking more notice of God.”  The story noted that prayer groups were forming and that religious books are climbing up the best sellers list, and asked, “Is this a superficial, merely utilitarian movement or is it a genuine spiritual awakening?”

Incorporating spirituality and values in a workplace can generate a positive and fulfilling business environment.  Most of us spend 40 hours a week or more in our jobs.  Some of us consider it almost as our domicile or some as their sanctuary. (I do, even after 13 yrs in the industry).  Work can be stressful.  Deadlines are torture. However, having leaders who are guided by spiritual principles can somehow ease the burden.   Practicing spirituality enables one to respect each individual despite of his or her shortcomings.  Despite of the accomplishments of others, one must show humility and respect.  CSI definitely encourages such perspective.  CSI’s Management and staff believe in this kind of business–interacting with people is the main course; we must be patient and responsible for our clients’ successes.  We strongly believe in the saying that in business equation, people are the most intangible, the most complex element of a business. The only way to meet people is to start by reaching into yourself and by understanding yourself.  We must know what we believe in and what our  values are, before we can interpret others.  We must have respect among ourselves.  With God behind us, He helps us manage some difficult times that we had experienced all through out.

Looking back, the tragic and devastating incident that happened in New York last September 11, 2001, where many innocent lives were lost and crimes that are committed in the name of God or another, is an imperative example of the spiritual awakening of the whole nation, not only in the world of business.

The whole nation set aside each of their differences in beliefs and values and started to believe firmly in one GOD (though may be in many forms or names), and believe in his powers that he will help us bring the person(s) involved in this horrendous violence into justice and help America bounce back from its downfall.

It was one fall after the other, not only in the United States’ economic depression; but also around the world, including the Philippines.  For us Filipino-Americans, we continue to keep our faith; proving to the world our trait of resilience.

God is always watching over us.  His presence may not be as obvious as loosing a profit or going on a bankruptcy (in a business perspective), but as long as our faith is intact, he will be there to guide as all the way. He is watching every move that we make.  It is just a matter of faith and action.  Every deed  is triggered by a belief enforced by faith and hope. Therefor, we must not loose the faith and hope: the only ‘assets’ that we can hold on and rely to during these challenging times.  God will give us the courage and strength to fight, to move on with grace and show our adversaries that we still have the power—the will and power to be united and still able to DELIVER results.

I quote Mr. Hamilton Beazly, a former oil company executive who expressed intuitively, “Spirituality is in convergence with all the cutting- edge thinking in management and oraganizational behavior.  It creates a higher performing behavior.”

Busy Bees within a “Hibernating” Economy

November 11, 2009

Busy Bees within a “Hibernating” Economy

CSI Professionals, Inc. on Corporate Social Responsibility,

“Looking Back and Giving Back”

“Tragic, Traumatic, Devastating, An Awakening”.  These are words that could describe the effects of Typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng to the Philippines.

If there is one important Filipino value that needs to materialize among our people during these tough economic times, (as aggravated by frequent natural disasters), it is social responsibility.

We have seen efforts carried out by Filipinos all over the world, in the mission to aid our affected brothers and sisters from the recent Typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng. Organizations and businesses of different types have been facilitating relief efforts and fund-raisers to reach out to the victims.

It has been said that in the Philippine setting, corporate social responsibility is about business giving back to society. As a Filipino-American company, CSI Professionals, Inc. want to “look back” and “give back” to our home country, especially during these challenging times.

Last October 22, 2009, CSI together with GMA Kapuso Foundation and several Filipino artists gathered in a mission to raise funds for the benefit of the recent typhoon victims. It was a night of enjoyment and unity. Every song sung, dance executed, guitar string plucked and drumset beat, touched and echoed in the hearts of everyone present in the assembly. With a much felt sense of unity and brotherhood, Filipinos, Filipino-Americans and even foreigners participated in becoming ONE for the sake of charity and social responsibility.

On the other hand, in the morning of that same day, CSI Professionals, Inc. also reached out to local and international students of Santa Monica College during their job fair. There were many inquiries that gathered by the CSI booth, and a lot of information on CSI’s job openings and employment-based sponsorship was disseminated among students and job hunters from within and outside the campus.

Indeed, it was a big and fulfilling day for CSI Professionals, Inc., and it still aims to tap more from the concerned public.

Speaking of the concerned public, CSI, in continuation of its marathon of employment and immigration seminars, held another successful session last October 16, 2009 at our Glendale office.

A small group was given a specific discussion on employment and US and Canadian employment-based sponsorship, with the help of some of our retained lawyers. Particular questions from the attendees were answered, and personal consultations were made upon request.

Another seminar is scheduled to take place on November 6, 2009 and almost all seats are taken. CSI’s marathon of employment and immigration seminars will continue until the end of this year. Call now and reserve your seats! Sitting room for CSI’s seminars are occupied fast.

It’s not over yet. CSI will continue to join and implement efforts through different events and projects. Watch out for announcements on upcoming CSI fund raising activities, job fairs and expo’s.

Meanwhile, do not miss the chance to get a FREE seminar on November and December 2009 for your employment and immigration concerns; Contact us through the numbers below and let CSI work FOR you.

Dealing with Adversity and the Current Economy:

Filipinos at heart, Filipinos in Action

CSI Professionals Inc. on Reaching Out to Typhoon Victims and Adaptations to Job Placement Concerns

Philippines – an archipelago whose weather is characterized by only two seasons (dry and rainy). While it only experiences limited weather patterns, calamities often brought about by such are very powerful and can cause extensive devastation.

For the past few weeks, the Philippines experienced two major typhoons which resulted to severe flooding; and per reports, there is another one soon to likely hit the northern part of the Philippines while restoration of the estimated 15 billion worth of damages incurred from Typhoons Ondoy and Pepeng are still ongoing.

This tragic series of incidents in our home country triggered  the unity and “bayanihan”  among our people. Fellow Filipinos, even those based abroad, and people from other nations are reaching out to give support and donations whether it’s in kind or in cash.

Being a Filipino-American company, we at CSI professionals Inc. also want to help our kababayan’s. Participating in the benefit concert organized by GMA Network –  “WE ARE ONE”, we joined with our fellow Pinoys in raising funds for our affected brothers and sisters. This concert featured artists like Ms. Lea Salonga and Quest Crew dance group and other Filipino celebrities last October 22, 2009 at ALEX Theater in Glendale, CA. In addition, CSI will host its own fund drive on November entitled, “Ilakad, Ikanta, Magkaisa para sa Nasalanta” – a walk and promotions with a cause for typhoon victims.

People gather in the midst of a crisis; but taking to account these tragedies and the current global economic crisis, we can compare how the Philippines and the U.S. (as different nations),  deal with adversity. In example, U.S. unemployment shooting to 9.8% last September resorted to (if not more) budget cuts from the U.S. governent; while in the Philippines, where unemployment and the peso value have always been issues aside from its other major concerns; plus the fact that it’s now dealing with relief operations and recovery, is still struggling on which problem to attack first and or is suffering from “wrong manipulation of resources.”

Like people, different nations have their own ways of treating a problem. Tracing back to U.S. history, it looks like its going to be a V-shape recovery ahead, instead of a W-shaped economoy or double dip recession. The trend seems to be that the smaller job losses there are, the more they will pave way to job gains. We  hope for the same in the Phillipine setting, since this should be another chain reaction of economic trends.

How should one deal with a problem? Or better yet, how should one anticipate, prepare for or prevent a problem? We always advise our clients to be ready for possible challenges in employment and immigration concerns. In continuation of our free marathon of seminars, we are hosting another seminar on “Immigration: Adapting to Change” on November 6, 2009. Call our office through the details below to reserve your seat!

“The trials of life are far less important than how one deals with them.” Know your employment options and start dealing with them with your own determination and use available resources well. People are out there to help, but proven EXPERTS like CSI Professionals, Inc. have always been there waiting to  help YOU.
