Kalayaan Distinction Award 2017

It is our great honor and pleasure to introduce The KALAYAAN Distinction Award.

This award honors a civic-minded individual who is dedicated to uplifting the Fil Am community in Los Angeles. The recipient of the Kalayaan Distinction Award must have demonstrated, over a significant period of time, dedication to the promotion of Filipino American concerns  in our city, combined with a strong sense of civic and family duty.

The very deserving winner this year comes in a small package but full of great and wonderful surprises.

Our awardee has always been passionate about her vision to uplift the lives of her countrymen, working tirelessly for the greater good as she inspires others to always be better in all that they do.

She received her bachelor’s degree in Biology in the Philippines in 1994. After which, she came to the United States to take up her Master’s Degree and later on pursued her Juris Doctorate degree from one  of our prestigious Universities in Los Angeles. In her younger days, she was a Student Council Leader from Elementary to High School and represented the Philippines in Aerobics Competitions held in South East Asian countries.

She was also affiliated with the U.S. Law Review Council during her years in law school and the Filipino American Educational Committee of the Philippine Consulate– LA, until the early 2000.

In 1996, she conceptualized CSI Professionals Inc., so she can provide assistance to immigrant hopefuls with their employment and immigration concerns. It was her mission to help immigrant aspirants attain their legal status. She hosted free workshops and seminars with the purpose of educating them on how to prepare and address employment and immigration matters.

Lately, she has expanded her reach to assist deserving Asian Americans  as she believes that talents and capabilities are not molded within a territory but lie in the capability and aspirations of the individual.

With more than 20 years of experience in the fields of employment and immigration, she is one of the pillars of the industry as she continues to give HOPE, to immigrant aspirants in making the American dream, —– their reality.
